Aust stocks opens almost 3 pc higher, follows Wall St

The Australian sharemarket has opened almost three per cent higher today after gains on Wall Street on Friday.
At 10.15am (AEDT) the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was up 94.2 points or 2.68 per cent .. to 3,604.6 .. while the broader All Ordinaries index had risen 90 points or 2.61 per cent .. to 3,542.5.
On the Sydney Futures Exchange .. the December share price index contract was 84 points higher at 3,621 with 14,286 contracts changing hands.
Miners BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto were all higher .. along with the big banks.
